FAQs

What is boudoir (bood-war) photography?

If you're looking for exactly what the term means means, here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boudoir

In a photography aspect, they are photos taken in a bedroom setting.

How far in advanced should I book my session if I plan on giving the book as a gift?

I always suggest doing your session a month before your event. In most cases, you have your images in your hands much sooner. This window gives us lots of time for editing and the proofing process.

When/where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place at my studio in downtown Boise.

What should I wear? Do you provide clothing?

I do not provide clothing. The reason I don't is because women come in all different shapes and sizes. Most women also have their own style and flair. However, I am happy to guide you in this process. Upon booking and I will send a guide to help you with a clothing selection based on location and your taste.

Will anyone see my images?

No! Unless you want let them to. I don't share images publicly unless you've explicitly given me permission. The images on my site are clients who were happy to share with those who are interested in booking.

What if Iā€™m nervous?

I wouldn't expect anything else! Most people are not used to getting their photos taken on a regular basis, let alone scantily clad. I do my best to make you feel comfortable and most of my clients leave feeling empowered and relaxed.

How do I prepare?

Once you book, I have a long list of ways you can prepare for your best session.

What about hair and makeup?

All sessions come with professional makeup application. I can't stress how much this makes a difference! We can always add hair to your package, or you can do this ahead of time.

Do you touch-up the images?

Yes! While I don't want to make you look like someone you aren't, I always go in and subtly touch up your images. Magazines lead us to believe all women should look flawless, but in fact, nobody really looks like that! You are beautiful in your own way so I don't like to manipulate the images but I always so a little "airbrushing" where needed.

How long will my session take?

Makeup application will take about an hour and your session will take up to 2 hours.

Definitely give yourself a 5-hour window from start of makeup to finish of the session so we aren't rushed.
